Ink and Tea: Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society Collection of Calligraphy, Painting, and Printing Works  Return

  • Exhibition Time:2023-01-09 - 2023-03-03
  • Exhibition Address:The Temporary Exhibition Hall, China National Tea Museum
Introduction
This exhibition picks 77 pieces (sets) of calligraphy works, paintings, seals, and works of members related to tea culture collected by Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society.

The exhibition is divided into four chapters: “Xiling Tea Talk”, “Tea and Calligraphy”, “Tea and Painting”, and “Tea and Seal Engraving”. Pictures and objects are used to explain the relations between tea and calligraphy, painting, and seal. Although they have different forms, they carry the same sense of beauty and improve people’s morality.

Not long ago, “traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China” was inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, so this exhibition unexpectedly became a combination of two intangible cultural heritages – “the Chinese tea” and “the Chinese seal engraving”, which is of extraordinary significance.
