  • Exhibition Time:2023-08-08 - 2023-11-12
  • Exhibition Address:The Temporary Exhibition Hall, China National Tea Museum
Introduction
Tea, the magical oriental leaves, originally grew silently in jungles. Our smart ancestors brought it to table or placed it in a cup. From a food to a drug, and then to a drink, it has gone through a long process. As one of the first countries to drink tea, China has developed a distinctive tea culture in each period. It could be noble, elegant, luxurious, solemn, exquisite, or intriguing. Deeply incorporated into people’s lives, tea has become a profound heritage.

As tea drinking flourished in the past centuries, the seeds of tea have reached every corner of Asia, taking roots and bearing fruits. As the saying goes, “places ten miles away have different customs”. Combining with the traditions, customs, and lifestyles in different regions, tea drinking has been diversified, presenting a colorful Asian scene.

The exhibition in three chapters interweaves the Chinese tea culture with other tea cultures from different eras, vividly showing the mutually reinforcing beauty of the Chinese and Asian tea cultures.
